विश्व की करुण कहानी तुम सुनों मेरी ज़बानी सूखते नयनों से पानी, लहरियाँ थीं जहाँ मानी! कभी मेरी आँखों में, कितने ही चित्र थे छिपे, जिनमें बसती थी दुनिया सारे सुख-दुख सहे! और आज वो सब मिट गए, जीवन की राह से, जैसे सूख जाते हैं बादल एक विवश आह से!

The mournful tale of the world Hear from my own lips From drying eyes, the water, Where waves were once respected! Once within my eyes, Many images were hidden, In which the world resided Bearing all joys and sorrows! And today, all of them are erased, From life's pathway, As clouds dry up With a helpless sigh!
