फिर विकल है प्राण मेरे। मैं तुम्हारी रागिनी हूँ, क्यों न कंपित हो सकूँ मैं? दूर हूँ तुमसे अखंड, सुहागिनी हूँ, क्यों न सिहरित हो सकूँ मैं? जो सजल घन में नयन के अश्रु, वे ही बिछलते हों, सिक्त पुलकन में सरस संज्ञान! क्यों न विचलित हो सकूँ मैं? पंथ मेरा एक, पर मृगतृष्णा है बनी दो, शून्य के संगी स्वरों का क्यों न द्रवित हो सकूँ मैं?

My soul is restless again. I am your melody, Why can I not tremble? I am far from you, an unbroken, beloved one, Why can I not shiver? The tears in my eyes, like a cloud full of water, They are the ones that slip away, Wet joy in tender realization! Why can I not be disturbed?
