भारत माता ग्रामवासिनी। खेतों में फैला है श्यामल, धूल भरा मैला सा आँचल। गंगा यमुना में आँसू जल, मिट्टी की प्रतिमा उदासिनी। दैन्य जड़ित अपलक नत चितवन, अधरों में चिर नीरव रोदन। शोषण से संचित हर क्षण, निर्धनता नत नयनो की नीरवता, भारत माता का दुख सहती।

English Translation

India, Motherland, dweller of villages. Darkness spread across the fields, A dusty, soiled veil. Tears flow in Ganga and Yamuna, A sad idol made of clay. Poverty-stricken, an unblinking gaze cast down, Eternal silent weeping on her lips. Every moment accumulated by exploitation, The silence of eyes bowed by destitution, Mother India bears her sorrow.
