दूर क्यों प्रिय! अविरल दु:ख का यह निर्झर! क्या अश्रुदान कर इसे और जीवन-मरु बनाऊँगा? क्या इस अशांत ज्वाला को आहुति बन कर बढ़ाऊँगा? नहीं, नहीं, प्रिय, यह न होगा अब तो यह भी है स्वीकार। मिटा दूँगी इस दुःख-धारा में अपना वह सब कुछ संसार!

Why so distant, beloved! This ceaseless stream of sorrow! Will I, by offering tears, Make life a desert more? Will I, becoming an offering, Further ignite this restless flame? No, no, beloved, this shall not be Now, even this I accept. In this current of sorrow, I shall erase My entire world!
