Composed by सुमित्रानंदन पंत

English Translation

Across the fields, a dark green spreads, A pall of greenery over the earth. Golden sunbeams, evening and morning, Tremble upon the verdant ground. The blue sky's beauty is unique, Adorned by golden rays. In the wheat fields, lovely and deep, Is etched the soul of new life. Colorful flowers have bloomed, Dew drops mingle on the grass. A cool, gentle breeze flows, Sweetness ever dwells in the heart. The clouds' rumble is soft, A cool frontier at dusk and dawn.

AI Echo (Hindi)

AI Echo (English)

This calm story of the fields, Speaks the voice of life itself. Every moment wrapped in green, This pure essence of the earth. The chirping of birds resonates, Sweet music accumulated. This beauty of village life, Charms the heart, dispels all strife. Here lies nature's true essence, A unique gift, full of love's presence. Lost within this beauty, We find ourselves anew, fully.

Pant, one of the 'four pillars' of Chhayavaad, was renowned for his profound connection with nature and his lyrical expression of its beauty. In this excerpt, he paints a picturesque scene of verdant fields, golden sunlight, the unique blue sky, and the simple, vibrant life pulsating within the wheat fields. The poem captures the tranquility, abundance, and aesthetic appeal of rural India, reflecting Pant's characteristic sensitivity and ability to imbue natural elements with a sense of wonder and spiritual depth.
